Inspiration Sunday #5

  • Nov. 8th, 2009 at 6:40 PM
I LOVE Tim Burton. I know I use the word "amazing" a lot but his visuals are absolutely amaaaaaazing. People always say he's overrated but I think he's quite the contrary. I love his poems and stop animations.
He makes me want to write children's books that rhyme and sculpt weird-looking dolls all the time.

This is a video of his first claymation called Vincent. Made in 1982. And I'm totally obsessed with it.

Scissorhands

  • Nov. 2nd, 2009 at 10:26 AM

I dressed up as Edward Scissorhands for Halloween.
Sucky thing was though, the "party" I went to wasn't really good. There were like only what, 9 people who dressed up.
The Halloween spirit was non-existent. I was disappointed. But I loved my outfit. So that's okay.

There's this boy in my school who has such beautiful eyes. They remind me of Julian's.
I don't know him personally. He's my senior. He's taken though.
I don't get why the boys I fancy always turn out to be unavailable.
They're either taken or homosexual.
Something's wrong with me. Well, we all know that by now.
Maybe I should just fall in love with fictional characters and musicians.
Like Edward Scissorhands and/or Johnny Flynn.
I guess that's better.

Art is going on really well. I'm very happy. I get really excited every time I get into class.
Or when I start working and brainstorming.
So my mind's made up, this is what I really want to do in the future.
I could settle as a part time "poor musician" and full time "starving artist".
And travel light. I wouldn't mind.

Inspiration Sunday #4

My Milk Toof is a blog that tells the tales of ickle and Lardee. Words cannot describe how adorable this is. When I found this site, I felt like I could die of major cuteness. It's so cute. Props to Inhae for coming up with this because I need a little dose of cute in my life right now. And I regret the fact that I gave the tooth fairy my baby teeth because now I want my own ickle and Lardee.

You know what? Something happened yesterday. Something totally not cool.
I had my first ever... DUN DUN DUN-- detention.
My permanent record is now finally coloured with a red mark (or some other colour that they use).
It's not fair really because I had a couple of good reasons for not handing in my assignment on time.
I was lazy and I did not have the right operating system to download some stupid PAST application thingy.
I asked for an extension and I remembered clearly that my mentor said okay.
And I did pass up my assignment. It was just a day late.
AND I STILL GOT detention???
I swear, my mentor hates me for some reason that I can't think of.
bla bla yada yada whatever )

Inspiration Sunday #3

Two words: THE CURE.

A friend introduced me to this amazing band back in 2007 (I was late, I know. Haha) and I fell in love with them ever since. AND ROBERT SMITH IS ONE COOL CAT. And the fact that my mom loves them too just makes everything a hundred times better.

And this is one of my favourite videos of them. Directed by Floria Sigismondi! Double Yay!

First of all, I would like to apologize for missing two Inspiration Sundays in a row.
Being an absentminded person who is not always punctual is never good.
I think I might suffer from a disorder.
But I will try to keep posting my inspirations on Sundays as much as I can.
It's just that I have been busy with so many things lately, it's even near impossible for me to take a rest.

And second, I would like to apologize for not updating my journal so frequently.
I'm not saying that I have a kabajillion readers every day but for those who follow my journal,
I would like to say my thanks and I'm sorry. I have become a very busy person.
And I'm not sure if I like it. I'm not sure of many things.

I eventually bought a guitar.
Sadly It's not a resonator because resonators are so god damn difficult to find. But hey, this guitar ain't bad. I was watching Bob Dylan's Newport Folk Festival videos on Youtube the other day and one thing that caught my eye (this excludes Bobby because he catches my eye all the time) was his guitar. It doesn't look anything extraordinary but I actually fancied it. Maybe it was because Bob used it... most probably. It was a 13-fret Nick Lucas. Since it's near impossible to find a resonator guitar (I have looked everywhere... kind of), I decided to go for the Nick Lucas because I'm sure there must at least be one music store that sells something similar.

So God answered my prayers and yesterday, I found this baby.

It's not a Nick Lucas but a Yamaha FG-Junior JR-1. Whatever that means.
It really is quite cool. It's light and compact. I can go around busking without getting tired and I can run away without difficulty from people I harass by singing off-key. It's not bad at all. And I think it might be the same size as Johnny's resonator so... that's always a plus. I think I should just wait until a resonator guitar finds me. I know you're out there somewhere, my love. We'll be together soon.

Oh and school's next week. Holay Mary Owner of a Lamb! D: It sucks. It sucks. It sucks. It sucks.
I actually confronted my parents about my hatred for school but I ended up being a chicken because my parents half-threatened me. I still love them though but I would never love school. Neveeeeeer. On the bright side, however! I'm going somewhere mid next week. I'm not telling where to yet because I'm mysterious like that. Well, trying to.
